There are currently three active wildfires burning in Lewis and Clark County.
The National Weather Service forecast for Wednesday is widespread haze before noon, then widespread haze after 3 p.m. It will be sunny and hot, with a high near 96. The wind will be light and variable becoming northeast 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
For Wednesday night there will be widespread haze before 11 p.m. It will be partly cloudy, with a low around 63. There will be east-northeast wind from 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
Horse Gulch fire
The Horse Gulch fire northeast of Helena grew slightly to 14,250 acres Wednesday, with officials reporting it is now 23% contained.
The Horse Gulch fire showed some growth on the northeast side Tuesday afternoon due to a combination of natural and selected tactical firing.
