After coaching at Alabama for 17 seasons, Nick Saban has passed the torch to Kalen DeBoer who took over the job about six months ago. DeBoer understands the high expectations that come with leading a program like Alabama that consistently strives for national championships. Speaking at SEC media days in Dallas, DeBoer expressed his gratitude for being part of such a prestigious program and the responsibility that comes with it. The Crimson Tide, under Saban’s leadership, has won six national championships and nine SEC titles, establishing a new era in Tuscaloosa under 49-year-old DeBoer. His successful coaching career includes a 104-12 record at various universities, most recently guiding the Washington Huskies. DeBoer is excited to lead a team that finished 12-2 last season and has high hopes for the upcoming season, starting with a game against Western Kentucky on Aug. 31. As he prepares the team, DeBoer emphasizes the importance of a winning mindset and putting in the extra work to be successful. With a challenging schedule ahead and key players returning, DeBoer is focused on building an elite team that is ready to compete at the highest level. –Field Level Media
