Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Convention, delivered the concluding speech on the second day of the RNC, where she recounted the assassination attempt against Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
“Last Saturday was a stark reminder that as Americans, we must remember that there is more that unites us than divides us. We all share a desire for this country to thrive, even if we may not always agree on the best approach to achieving that,” Lara Trump stated.
Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of Donald Trump, assumed the role of co-chair of the RNC alongside North Carolina GOP leader Michael Watley in March of 2024. They took over from former RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who was removed after her relationship with Trump deteriorated.
Since then, Lara Trump has been instrumental in driving new fundraising efforts for Trump’s campaign and aligning the GOP and the Trump campaign more closely.
“My main objective is to ensure that Donald Trump serves as the 47th president,” she expressed to The Associated Press in May.

During her address, she emphasized the Trump administration’s achievements in border security, employment, energy security, and foreign policy during the first term.
“The improvements experienced during Donald Trump’s presidency cannot be denied,” she affirmed.
Regarding Trump’s adversaries hinting at the idea of a second Trump term as something to be feared, she countered, “You don’t have to speculate on what could occur. Just remember what it was like.”
“Tonight I address you not as the co-chair of the RNC, nor as the candidate’s daughter-in-law. Tonight, I speak to you as a mother and as a citizen of this nation,” she conveyed to convention attendees. “For those of you who have never backed Donald Trump, I understand the portrayals by the media and his political rivals. Trust me, I have encountered and heard it all. Nonetheless, I have also witnessed the truth. I take pride in supporting Donald Trump, campaigning for him, voting for him, and raising his grandchildren. He will take the necessary actions to safeguard you, your families, and this country.”
