Terrell Davis, retired Denver Broncos Hall of Fame running back, expressed his frustration on social media Monday, demanding answers from United Airlines. He claimed that he was placed in handcuffs and removed from a flight from Denver to California after it landed on Saturday.
In a social media post, Davis explained that he was traveling with his family to Orange County when he lightly tapped the arm of a flight attendant who had ignored his request for ice for his son.
According to Davis, the flight attendant responded with “Don’t hit me” and then walked to the front of the plane, leaving the beverage cart behind.
After the flight landed, Davis was approached by several FBI and law enforcement officials, who placed him in handcuffs without explanation in front of his family and other passengers. He was eventually cleared of any accusations.
United Airlines responded to the incident by removing the flight attendant from duty and apologizing to Davis. However, Davis expressed disappointment in the airline’s response and emphasized the injustice he faced.
Davis was a key player for the Denver Broncos and had a successful career in the NFL, including three Pro Bowl appearances and an MVP win in Super Bowl XXXII.
