Nikki Haley, former governor of South Carolina, former ambassador to the United Nations, and former candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, voiced her support for Donald Trump as the party nominee during the Republican National Convention on Tuesday.
“President Trump asked me to address this convention in the spirit of unity, and I gladly accepted. Let me be clear: Donald Trump has my full endorsement,” Haley stated.
“Our country is facing a critical moment. If we continue with President Biden or even a day of Vice President Harris, our nation will suffer greatly. For the good of our country, we must stand with Donald Trump,” she added.
“You don’t need to agree with Trump on everything to support him. I have disagreed with him in the past, but we find more common ground than differences,” Haley remarked.
Haley, who previously ran against Trump for the nomination before suspending her campaign in March, released her 97 delegates from the primaries in July prior to the convention. She emphasized the importance of Republican unity in a statement releasing her delegates, expressing concerns about Biden’s competency and Harris’s potential impact on America.
On Tuesday, Haley urged Republicans to diversify the party by welcoming individuals from various backgrounds.
“No president can solve all our problems alone. We must work together. America has a unique ability to correct itself. Now is the time to set aside our differences and concentrate on what unites us for the betterment of our country,” she concluded.
