“The Bear” received a whopping 23 Emmy nominations for comedy series, setting a new record in the category. Meanwhile, “Shogun” led all nominees with 25 nominations, making it a dominant force in this year’s FX nominations.
Notable nominations for “The Bear” included best comedy series and best actor in a comedy series for Jeremy Allen White. The acclaimed culinary phenomenon also secured nominations for best actress in a comedy series for Ayo Edebiri, along with several guest acting nominations for stars like Jamie Lee Curtis and Olivia Colman.
“Shogun,” on the other hand, capitalized on the absence of last year’s top nominees to snag nominations for best drama series, best actress for Anna Sawai, and best actor for Hiroyuki Sanada, solidifying FX’s strong year.
The drama series category features contenders like “The Crown,” “Fallout,” “The Gilded Age,” and “Shogun.” Similarly, the best actress and actor categories include talents like Jennifer Aniston, Carrie Coon, Idris Elba, and Hiroyuki Sanada.
In the comedy series category, nominees include “Abbott Elementary,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “Hacks.” Stars like Quinta Brunson, Ayo Edebiri, and Matt Berry are recognized for their outstanding performances.
Other notable categories include best limited or anthology series, reality competition show, and supporting actor/actress in various series. The winners will be announced at the upcoming Emmy Awards ceremony on Sept. 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, airing live on ABC.
The exciting nominations follow just six months after the last Emmy Awards, which were delayed due to last year’s strikes within the entertainment industry.
