Madeline Brame, a national victims’ rights advocate, made an appearance on the second day of the Republican National Convention. She was invited to speak as an everyday American, criticizing Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for his handling of her veteran son’s murder case.
Brame shared with Scripps News the heartbreaking story of her son, U.S. Army Sgt. Hason Correa, who was tragically stabbed to death in Harlem in 2018.

Four individuals were found guilty in Correa’s murder, and DA Bragg has faced accusations of attempting to negotiate lenient plea deals for them after taking office. The second day of the RNC was centered around discussions on law enforcement and crime.
Brame has labeled those responsible for her son’s death as homicidal maniacs and asserted that they were career criminals who should not have been walking the streets of New York. She has been vocal in her criticism of Bragg, especially as he oversaw a case involving hush money against former President Trump where he was found guilty of falsifying business records.

Brame passionately spoke out about her son’s murder, the convictions of those involved, and the justice system in New York. She emphasized the prolonged wait for justice for many individuals who have never received it.
Day 3 of the RNC is anticipated to focus on foreign policy and national security.
