According to a report from ESPN on Friday, the Baltimore Ravens have signed two-time Pro-Bowl safety Eddie Jackson to a one-year contract. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Jackson, who played alongside Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey and running back Derrick Henry at Alabama, will add depth to the team’s safety lineup, which already includes Marcus Williams and Kyle Hamilton. The 30-year-old Jackson was let go by the Chicago Bears in February after spending seven seasons with the team. His last two seasons were marred by foot injuries. In the previous season, Jackson accumulated 37 tackles and one interception in 12 games, all of which he started. Throughout his career, Jackson has amassed 459 tackles, 15 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries in 100 games, all of which he started after being drafted by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Jackson earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2018 and made the Pro Bowl in 2018 and 2019. His six defensive touchdowns tie him with Lance Briggs for the third spot in Bears history, trailing only Charles Tillman (nine) and Mike Brown (seven). –Field Level Media
