A horde of blanket-holding Helenans took to the lawn of Carroll College on Friday after to secure a spot for this year’s Symphony Under the Stars outdoor concert.
On Saturday, celebrate 20 years of the best in symphonic music, sunsets, and socializing at the 20th Annual Intrepid Credit Union Symphony Under the Stars concert. This year’s concert, which begins at 8:30 p.m. at the base of Guadalupe Hill on the Carroll College campus, pays tribute to the life and musical legacy of the queen of rock ‘n’ roll – Tina Turner.
“It’s really become so embedded in the fabric of the culture of Helena,” said Cameron Betchey, director of development and communications for the Helena Symphony. “People look forward to it every year.”
“It’s one of the quintessential, most distinctive events in Montana,” said Maestro Allan R. Scott, music director for the Helena Symphony.

The free concert, which attracts nearly 17,000 people, ends with a fireworks show. People are asked to donate canned goods, which will be turned over to Helena Food Share. Officials urged people to be extra generous this year with canned good donations.
