Former Trump Organization executive Allen Weisselberg has been released from New York City’s Rikers Island jail after serving time for lying under oath, confirmed by his lawyer and correction department officials.
After his release, the former chief financial officer of Donald Trump’s real estate company has been reunited with his family, according to his lawyer, Seth Rosenberg, in an email.
The Department of Correction in the city declined to provide further details about Weisselberg’s release but confirmed it in the online inmate database.

In March, Weisselberg pleaded guilty to perjury in the fraud lawsuit brought by New York’s attorney general against the former president.
For admitting to lying about the valuation of Trump’s Manhattan penthouse in financial statements, Weisselberg pleaded guilty to two counts of perjury, resulting in prosecutors not pursuing other crimes related to his tenure at the Trump Organization.

“Allen Weisselberg accepted responsibility for his conduct and now looks forward to the end of this life-altering experience and to returning to his family and his retirement,” said Seth Rosenberg, his attorney, after sentencing in April.
This was Weisselberg’s second time in jail, as he previously served 100 days for tax evasion on company perks amounting to $1.7 million, like a rent-free Manhattan apartment and luxury cars.
Weisselberg, who worked for the Trump family for nearly 50 years, testified twice in trials unfavorable to Trump, stating that his boss had not committed any significant wrongdoing.
