Following the events at the RNC and the attempt on Donald Trump’s life, Rep. Ronny Jackson, former White House doctor turned congressman, has provided an assessment of Trump’s condition.
In a letter addressed to concerned citizens of the United States released on Saturday, Rep. Jackson stated that he has been with Trump since the attempted assassination. Trump quickly returned to his home in Bedminster, N.J. after the incident at the Pennsylvania rally.
Rep. Jackson described the bullet passing close to Trump’s head, causing a wound on his right ear that required medical attention. The assessment mentioned the swelling and bleeding that initially occurred but has since improved.
Medical staff in Pennsylvania initially treated Trump before Rep. Jackson met with him in Bedminster. Rep. Jackson is not Trump’s primary physician but will assist as needed based on the initial medical treatment.
Rep. Jackson accompanied Trump to a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan and will continue to support him over the weekend before returning to Washington and then Amarillo, Texas.
Trump also shared Rep. Jackson’s letter on his Truth Social platform. Earlier in the week, Eric Trump criticized the Secret Service for the security failure at the rally, calling for self-reflection and improvement within the agency.
