BILLINGS — Saturday saw increased activity in much of Montana and Wyoming with rain showers and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening. The weather will calm down quickly after sunset, with most of the clouds dissipating. Sunday is expected to start mild and hazy, with temperatures ranging from the mid 50s to the lower 60s.
Sunday will bring another hot and hazy day to our region due to a slow-moving ridge of high pressure. While isolated showers and thunderstorms are still possible, they will be fewer in number compared to Saturday. Monday and Tuesday will be mostly sunny, ushering in another period of hot weather next week.
The ridge of high pressure currently influencing the weather in the Rockies is forecasted to peak on Wednesday, with many areas potentially reaching temperatures in the upper 90s and lower 100s. Towards the end of next week, a trough of low pressure may bring a cooling trend, along with clouds and a few showers and thunderstorms.
