In the new episode “Citrus Soda Stars,” small-time St. Louis soda maker Charles Leiper Grigg dared to take on corporate giants Coke and Pepsi when he introduced a clear, lemon-lime soda he called “7 Up.” Only problem was that two brothers in Tennessee, Ally and Barney Hartman, concocted an almost identical soda that would be introduced as “Mountain Dew.” It’s a collision-course story with a lot of fizz.
