Air quality early Monday for the Helena and Butte areas is “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups,” according to the state Department of Environmental Quality website.
Smoke coming in from regional wildfires is a cause, and these episodes are hitting the area for longer periods of time due to weather conditions, Lewis and Clark Public Health officials said.
“Sensitive individuals (the elderly, the young, those who are pregnant and those with existing cardiovascular or respiratory illnesses) may experience health effects and should limit outdoor activities,” county officials warned.
