MISSOULA — The Missoula Zootown and Butte teams have both advanced to the semifinals in the Little League Senior League Softball West Region tournament at the Dale Clawson Complex.
Both teams will be competing for a spot in the championship on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The championship game will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday with a chance to qualify for the World Series in Delaware. The World Series is scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 4.
Hawaii finished with the best record in pool play (5-0), followed by Butte (4-1) and Missoula (3-2). Also finishing with a 3-2 record were Northern California, Southern California, and Nevada.
Haley Sellers has been a standout player for the host team, Zootown, with a .562 batting average in 21 plate appearances in five games. Her teammate Sydney Goldbar has a .471 average with two home runs, and Piper Whitman has been the main pitcher, striking out 14 batters in 15 innings.

Mattie Stepan has been a key player for Butte, with a .429 batting average. Brea Henderson has pitched most of the innings, recording 15 strikeouts.
Missoula has been the host of the event for many years and has qualified for the World Series multiple times.
