MONTANA – Temperatures ranged from the upper 80s to around 100 today across Montana. A ridge of high pressure will bring even hotter temperatures to the state.
A heat advisory through Tuesday for the Missoula, Bitterroot, Mission and Flathead Valleys with an excessive heat warning west of those valleys to the Idaho border.
A heat advisory Wednesday and Thursday from Havre to the Lewistown area with an excessive heat watch for the Jordan and Glasgow areas Tuesday through Friday.
Skies were clear with light winds. High pressure will continue to bring a major heat wave to Montana this week.
A cold front will temporarily cool temperatures later this week, but the heat wave is then expected to re-build across the region. A fire weather watch Tuesday through Wednesday from the Helena National Forest north to the Canadian border and eat through the High Line.
Humidities down to 13% with wind gusts up to 40 mph. Lows tonight in the mid 50s to mid 60s with highs tomorrow in the 90s to lower 100s. More of the same mid-week.
