US gymnastics sensation Simone Biles began her training at Bercy Arena in preparation for the start of the Olympic women’s competition this weekend. Biles, who is expected to add to her collection of four Olympic gold medals in Paris, has made a strong comeback after facing challenges in the previous Tokyo Games.
Despite a two-year break, Biles has once again proven her dominance in the sport through a combination of athleticism and artistry. With a focus on her mental health, the 27-year-old is entering her third Olympics with a renewed sense of determination.
In a recent interview, Biles expressed her personal motivation for continuing in the sport and highlighted her commitment to her own goals. She showcased her exceptional skills during training, including a challenging Yurchenko double pike vault that no other female gymnast has attempted in competition.
Alongside her US teammates, Biles demonstrated her precision and expertise on different apparatuses, impressing on balance beam, floor exercise, vault, and uneven bars. The training session also featured other strong contenders like China, Italy, and Algeria’s Kaylia Nemour.
The women’s competition will commence with the qualification round on Sunday, leading up to the team final on Tuesday. Individual events, including the all-around final and apparatus finals, will follow later in the week.
