Reports from multiple outlets indicate that the New York Jets have placed pass-rusher Haason Reddick on the reserve/did not report list. The veteran, who was acquired in a trade with Philadelphia in March, was not present at the start of training camp in Florham Park, N.J. Reddick, who will turn 30 in September, is in the final year of his contract and is seeking a long-term deal. Over the past four seasons, Reddick has amassed 50.5 sacks and is set to earn $14.25 million this season. In comparison, Brian Burns, a new Giants edge rusher acquired from the Carolina Panthers, has 38.5 sacks in the last four seasons and recently signed a lucrative five-year, $141 million contract ($28.2 million per season). With Reddick considered a starter at one defensive end position, the Jets have had to make adjustments after trading away John Franklin-Myers to the Broncos in April and losing Bryce Huff to the Eagles in free agency. A former first-round pick (13th overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in 2017, Reddick is a two-time Pro Bowl selection with impressive career stats including 410 tackles, 99 quarterback hits, 58 sacks, and 16 forced fumbles in 114 games (81 starts) across his time with the Cardinals (2017-20), Panthers (2021), and Eagles. –Field Level Media
