MISSOULA, Mont. – Due to a powerful storm on Wednesday night, some government offices in Missoula County are currently without power and have had to adjust operations.
Several county offices in Missoula County are either closed or offering services remotely as a result of the outages.
If residents require services from the county, they are advised to contact in advance to check if the department is functioning.
The University of Montana has also been affected by the power outage, impacting crucial services on campus.
UM President Seth Bodner issued the following message:
Following the severe weather conditions last night, a power outage persists on campus, affecting critical services like phones, elevators, and other essential infrastructure.
Although the campus will open on schedule today, UM employees are encouraged to discuss flexible work arrangements with their managers this morning. Those who are able to work remotely are urged to do so and coordinate with their supervisor.
Campus cleanup efforts will continue throughout the day.
For those commuting to campus, anticipate significant disruptions as we strive to resume normal operations.
We recognize that this storm has had a significant impact on many members of our UM community, so please prioritize your own needs and those of your loved ones as we recover together.
UM leadership will provide updates via email, text messages, and website and social media updates throughout the day.
