MISSOULA — Missoula Big Sky has hired its first high school baseball coach.
Ryan Roche has been selected to lead the Eagles in their inaugural season. The aim is to commence high school baseball for all three of Missoula’s Class AA schools next spring, pending successful fundraising efforts.
“We are excited for the enthusiasm, knowledge of the game, and leadership that Ryan will bring to our baseball program and our Big Sky community,” stated Big Sky athletic director Jack Young in a communication to the Missoulian and 406 MT Sports.
Most recently, Roche has been serving as manager for the Missoula Impact Baseball Club.
Coming out of high school in California, Roche garnered significant attention and committed to Montana State University Billings on a baseball scholarship. He set a school record at MSU Billings with six hits in a game as a redshirt freshman in 2018, going on to bat .347 for the season.

Roche completed four seasons at MSU Billings before making the move to Missoula. His experience playing every position, including pitching and defensive roles at the NCAA Division II level, makes him a valuable addition as a coach.
