Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama are endorsing Kamala Harris for president.
The Obamas said in a statement Friday that they are excited to endorse the vice president, believing she has what it takes to win the election and deliver for the American people.
Following President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 race, the Democratic Party united behind Harris, prompting questions about when the Obamas would endorse her. A report from Scripps News on Thursday indicated that the endorsement was expected soon, as Mr. Obama and Harris had been in regular communication.
