Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension worth $220 million, as confirmed by a source familiar with the deal on Friday.
The source, speaking to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity, revealed that Love’s new deal includes a $75 million signing bonus and $155 million in guarantees.
Love’s extension follows his impressive performance in leading the NFL’s youngest team to a 10-9 record and playoff berth last season as a first-year starter, replacing Aaron Rodgers, who was traded to the New York Jets in April 2023.
NFL Network was the first to report Love’s deal, while ESPN disclosed the amount of the signing bonus and guaranteed money.
During the contract negotiations, the 25-year-old Love had not been participating in Packers’ training camp activities, but had been attending workouts and other team events. His previous contract was set to expire at the end of the upcoming season.

AP source: Tagovailoa reaches extension
The Miami Dolphins have agreed with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on a four-year contract extension valued at a franchise-record $212.4 million, according to a source with knowledge of the deal on Friday.
At an average of $53.1 million per year, Tagovailoa will rank third in the NFL in quarterback pay behind Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow. The deal includes $167 million guaranteed, eighth most among quarterbacks, said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity.
ESPN was the first to report the extension, attributing the terms to the agency that represents Tagovailoa, Athletes First.
The Dolphins have not officially announced the extension, although a video of Tagovailoa was posted on social media by the team on Friday afternoon.
Tagovailoa was previously playing under his initial contract signed when he was selected fifth overall in the 2020 draft. He sought a contract similar to Burrow and Herbert, both of whom signed multi-year contracts exceeding $200 million after their rookie deals.
Daniels says it’s ‘not a problem’ to not be starting QB
ASHBURN, Va. — Despite not being publicly named as the Washington Commanders’ starting quarterback by Dan Quinn, Jayden Daniels remains unfazed.
The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and No. 2 pick in the NFL draft expressed confidence in his position as he adapts to a new system. Daniels emphasized that the lack of an official starting announcement within the first week of training camp does not concern him.
“For me it’s not a problem at all,” Daniels stated after Friday’s practice. “I’m a competitor, so regardless of if I was announced the starter or not, you still got to compete. You can’t be content with your job and be comfortable. I like competing.”
Daniels continued to participate in practice drills alongside veterans Marcus Mariota, Jeff Driskel, and undrafted rookie Sam Hartman. He and Mariota shared work with the first-team offense.

With Browns owner Jimmy Haslam observing closely, Chubb’s workout showcased his remarkable recovery from a knee injury suffered in Week 2 of last season.
Attendees at the workout were requested not to record or photograph Chubb during the session, but it was evident that he has made significant strides in his recovery.
Jackson sidelined by illness
OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Lamar Jackson was absent from practice again on Friday, with the Baltimore Ravens indicating that he is still undergoing evaluation by the medical team.
Jackson has only participated in one training camp session since its inception, and he left the Wednesday session early.
Coach John Harbaugh stated, “He’s fighting through an illness. Working with our doctors, doing all the tests, even more tests to make sure we have everything covered. I’m confident that he’ll be back pretty soon. It’s just an unpredictable deal.”
Veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy was also absent from Friday’s practice due to a neck issue.
