Four years ago, Lenora Metts started writing on Facebook using her 9-year-old Scottie dog Gordon’s voice. Little did she know that it would lead to a global community and annual gatherings of Scottie owners from around the world.
In 2016, Metts, a proud Scottie owner for 35 years, joined Facebook groups for Scottie dog adopters. She found a community of like-minded individuals but also encountered people mourning the loss of their beloved pets.
To bring comfort to grieving owners, Metts began writing on Facebook in the persona of Gordon, her white Scottie. She had Gordon address group members as “aunties or uncles,” creating a sense of community.

The annual meetup, known as “Glamalot,” began three years ago when friends expressed interest in visiting Metts. Initially expecting a small gathering, the event now attracts up to 35 Scottie owners from various countries.
