Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Saturday that she has officially declared her candidacy for president of the United States by signing the necessary documents.
In a post on X, Vice President Harris shared an image of herself signing forms at a desk and referred to her campaign as a “people-powered campaign.”

The DNCC rules required “candidates for nomination” to file with the convention’s secretary by 6 p.m. ET on Saturday July 27, which was the deadline for submissions.
Earlier on Saturday, Harris hosted her first fundraiser as the likely Democratic nominee for the White House in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, aiming to raise over $1.4 million for her campaign.
