Vice President Kamala Harris officially declared her candidacy for president of the United States by signing the necessary documents.
In a post on X, Vice President Harris referred to her campaign as “people-powered”, alongside an image of her signing the forms.

According to DNCC rules, candidates had until 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 27 to file with the convention’s secretary before the deadline passed.
Earlier on Saturday, Harris held her first fundraiser as the Democrat’s likely nominee in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, aiming to raise over $1.4 million for her campaign.
