On his final series, Roe finished with a score of 105.4, his best in the six series. Across all sixty shots, he averaged scores of 10.438.
Fellow American Rylan Kissell closely followed Roe in 35th place, while China’s Lihao Sheng achieved the highest qualifying score of 631.7.
Roe has previously served as an alternate at the Tokyo and Rio Olympics, which were delayed due to the pandemic. He is now making the most of his first official appearance by competing in three events. After two days of back-to-back competitions, he will have a two-day break before participating in the Men’s 50-meter Rifle 3 Positions qualification on July 31.
Roe’s shooting career began with the Gallatin Valley Sharpshooters. This Belgrade club has now produced competitors for two consecutive Olympic Games, with Ali Weisz competing in Tokyo.
