Sam Davis said he’d been ready for the moment when he would take the helm at Bridger Aerospace Group Holdings Inc., the Belgrade-based aerial firefighting company.

Davis was elevated from his current chief of staff position at Bridger to the interim CEO post July 1 when the company’s founder and chief executive, Tim Sheehy, stepped down to focus on his bid to unseat U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Montana.
