BELFRY — Eli Olson, a 10th grader, stands out from his peers by running Peggy’s Peace Doves, a release dove service he established in November of last year.
“They’re white racer doves,” explained Eli, referring to his nearly 40 doves, “They’ve evolved from years of evolution and training.”
Eli’s father, Jason Olson, expressed pride in his son’s initiative, considering himself merely a facilitator.
Reflecting on his grandmother, Peggy, who battled cancer for 20 years, Eli shared that she inspired him to start his business.
“Although she passed away before I was born, the stories my dad and grandpa shared about her have always motivated me,” mentioned Eli.
One such story involved Eli’s grandfather gifting doves to his grandmother as symbols of peace and hope, which she would watch from her window while undergoing chemotherapy.
“She kept her struggles private,” Jason remarked about his mother.
