Jader Obrian and Dani Pereira scored second-half goals to lead Austin FC to a 2-0 victory over Monterrey on Tuesday, securing their spot in the knockout phase of the Leagues Cup.
Obrian, a Colombian winger, found the back of the net in the 61st minute, while Pereira, a Venezuelan midfielder, added another goal in the 79th minute for the Texas team. Austin had previously defeated Pumas 3-2 in their group stage match.

The victory saw Montreal’s Tom Pearce and Matias Coccaro scoring in the first half, with Franck Boli and Sunusi Ibrahim finding the net for Atletico San Luis in the second half.
Pachuca, the CONCACAF Champions Cup winner, beat the New York Red Bulls 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Salomon Rondon and Elias Manoel scored for Pachuca and New York, respectively.
