The budget-friendly Spirit Airlines is getting a major facelift, as it moves away from its traditional fee-heavy approach and introduces premium fare bundles that come with added perks like free checked bags and snacks.
The airline, based in Florida, revealed on Tuesday that it will soon offer four new ticket options named “Go Big,” “Go Comfy,” “Go Savvy,” and “Go,” aimed at providing customers with an “elevated” travel experience at an affordable price.

Spirit’s premium bundle upgrade, “Go Big,” will include features like priority check-in, a more spacious seat with extra legroom, Wi-Fi streaming access, one carry-on and one checked bag, as well as complimentary snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages.
All four options will also allow passengers to change or cancel their flights at no extra cost.
“We’re entering a new chapter in Spirit’s journey and elevating low-cost travel with enhanced options that are unique from our previous offerings,” said Spirit CEO Ted Christie in a statement here. “We’ve listened to our customers and are thrilled to provide what they desire.”

This strategic shift comes as the airline, recognized for its vibrant yellow planes, has not seen profitability in more than four years, recording losses of nearly $2.4 billion since 2019 as it faces tough competition from other major carriers focusing on all-inclusive travel options while still offering budget-friendly choices.
