[Warning: The following post contains MAJOR spoilers about Claim to Fame Season 3, Episode 4: “The Rat Pact.”]
Several clues on the Clue Wall turned out to be useful for more than one contestant. In the latest episode of Claim to Fame, Naomi Burns was revealed to be the cousin of actress Molly Ringwald, thanks to these clues. This revelation linked back to Pretty in Pink and not just Gracie Lou’s Uncle Jon Cryer as previously thought.
Naomi’s identity was surprisingly guessed by Adam, who had little knowledge of celebrities in general. However, it was Hud who ultimately figured it out during a targeted interrogation, and decided to share the information with Adam.
TV Insider spoke with Naomi Burns (@n.elizajane on TikTok and Instagram) about her experience on the show and the advice she received from her famous aunt.
Walking into that guess-off, did you have any clue that Adam knew your celebrity relative?
Naomi Burns: No, I had no idea. He made me anxious with his high energy, but he actually didn’t know who my relative was and still doesn’t. I suspected someone tipped him off, but I never found out for sure.
So you don’t think it was an act that Adam never knew anything about anybody?
Adam genuinely had no idea about most celebrities. He did mention that his wife had briefed him on the Brat Pack, but he didn’t retain that information.
When you found out that it was Hud who betrayed you, did you ever confront him afterward?
Yes, I did confront him privately, but we moved past it and are now friends. I made it clear that I was upset, but eventually let it go.
Going back to the beginning during your talent show, you did singing and, obviously, that was part of your truth and a lie answer too. Did you kind of craft that to try and throw people off?
Yes, the singing aspect was intentionally included to throw people off and add intrigue to my identity.
How did she — and you — react when you found out that Jon Cryer was part of that, given the shared background?
Both of us were shocked and amused by the Jon Cryer connection.
During the interrogation, when you started hearing those questions, did you start to realize, “Oh no, they’re really on to me”? Was that the first time you felt like they knew?
I was anxious during the interrogation and suspected that Shane might have been onto me based on his comments.
During the water challenge, you were the team captain. Was it your strategy, or did the boys just kind of run away with that concept of just going to grab the letters without knowing what the clue was?
We didn’t have a specific strategy initially, but my loud nature helped guide the team to a win in the challenge.
You already mentioned a little bit of this, but what kind of advice did Molly give you about coming on the show and being like a young person in the spotlight? And what was her reaction to seeing it all unfold?
Molly’s main advice was to have a good experience on the show. She wasn’t familiar with reality TV, but she wanted me to enjoy the journey.
