ADRIAN, MI – Julian Leonard Steinborn Jr, “Len” passed away July 9, 2024 in Adrian, MI. Len was born April 8, 1943 in Butte, MT to Julian L. “Bus” and Marie (Blackwell) Steinborn Sr.
Len attended schools in Butte, Laurel, and Red Lodge, MT, graduating from Red Lodge in 1961. He enlisted in the Air Force from 1962-1974, and in 1975, enlisted in the Navy until his honorable discharge in 1983. After ending his military career, he worked in the pleasure-boat business rigging boats until his retirement in 2002.
Len married Susan Hatfield Arnold on Dec. 22, 1982. They resided in TX and FL before finally settling in MI to be near Sue’s family.
Len is survived by his wife, Sue; daughters: Kathy (Kyle) Schneider and Maechell (Leeland) Davis; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are Len’s brother, Jim (Carol) Steinborn; sisters: Rita McGarry, Cecelia Wyman (Tom Miller), and Karen (Steele) Gladston; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary (John)Benson, Robin Morgan-Hummell, Cindy(Bob)Wallace, Terry (Missy) Skinner, and Rodney Hatfield; aunts: Lynda Jerrim and Louette Jaeger; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Len was predeceased by his parents; parents-in-law; brother, Joe; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jan and Tim Wood, Phyllis and Michael King, Tom McGarry, Bill Wyman, and Chuck Morgan.
Per Len’s request, he has been cremated with no services.
