Another heat wave is sweeping through the state as massive high pressure dominates our weather.
Temperatures are soaring into the upper 80s and 90s, with clear skies enhancing the heat.
The peak of the heat wave is expected on Friday and Saturday, prompting heat advisories for various parts of Montana.
Areas like Glasgow, Jordan, Missoula, Kalispell, Polson, and Hamilton will be under heat advisories through the end of the week.
A shift in weather pattern is expected late Saturday and Sunday, bringing in a moist monsoonal flow.
This will initially result in scattered showers and storms with little rain but potential for lightning and gusty winds, increasing the fire risk.
However, towards the end of the weekend, the chances of beneficial rain increase as the atmosphere moistens.
Next week, temperatures will cool down east of the divide with above-normal rainfall anticipated.
Expect lows tonight in the 50s to mid 60s and highs tomorrow in the mid 90s to mid 100s, but cooling down to the 70s and 80s next week.
