The Billings Mustangs found themselves in a tough spot in their six-game homestand against the Glacier Range Riders on Wednesday night, falling 11-4 to the Pioneer Baseball League’s team from Kalispell.
Billings (28-34 overall, 6-7 second half) had previously secured two strong wins against the Missoula PaddleHeads on Sunday, but Glacier (32-30, 3-11) managed to come back and win on Tuesday and Wednesday at Dehler Park, attempting to break out of a second-half slump.
The Range Riders won Tuesday’s game by a score of 7-4.
Wednesday’s game was a seesaw battle until the fifth inning, when Glacier scored eight unanswered runs to break open a 3-3 tie. The visitors scored four runs in the fifth, one in the sixth, two in the seventh, and one in the ninth, with Andy Atwood leading the way with four RBIs.

Jacob Kline hit a two-run home run in the third inning for the Mustangs, but they were unable to score again until Brendan Ryan brought home Casey Harford in the ninth. Ryan also drove in Billings’ only other run in the first inning, bringing Kyle Booker home with a groundout.
Billings’ starter, Ethan McRae, was pulled after 4 1/3 innings, giving up six earned runs on seven hits.
The Mustangs will look to bounce back against the Range Riders at 6:35 p.m. on Thursday at Dehler.
