As Vice President Kamala Harris launched her presidential campaign on July 21, her campaign saw an unprecedented surge in donations. Her campaign recently disclosed the exact amount raised in July.
In a monthly report released by the Harris campaign, a total of $310 million was raised in July, marking it as the “best grassroots fundraising month in presidential history.” The campaign stated that $200 million was raised in the first week following Harris’ announcement, which came after President Joe Biden exited the race.
The Harris campaign revealed that over 3 million donors made more than 4.2 million contributions in July, with 94% of donations being under $200. In comparison, the Biden campaign reported $127 million raised in June and $264 million for the entire second quarter.

The vice president’s campaign stated that the substantial fundraising allows for the expansion of operations in crucial battleground states. Currently, the campaign has 260 offices across the U.S., with 1,400 employees.
“This is a record-breaking fundraising achievement for a candidate who is poised to make history this November. The overwhelming support we’ve received in a short period demonstrates the mobilization and growth of the Harris coalition, ready to work towards defeating Trump in the upcoming election,” said Julie Chavez Rodriguez, campaign manager for Harris for President. “Our funds will be used towards efforts that can secure close victories – whether it’s deploying organizers in DeKalb County, opening rural offices in Pennsylvania, or having college students engage at club fairs.”
On the other hand, former President Donald Trump’s campaign revealed that it raised $138.7 million in July, resulting in a cash-on-hand total of $327 million.
“These figures showcase the continuous support from donors at all levels and provide the necessary resources for the final 96 days until victory on November 5th,” stated the campaign.
