Simone Biles has secured her third gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning the women’s vault final on Saturday.
This victory brings Biles’ total Olympic medal count to 10, with seven of them being gold.
Aside from her individual success in the vault final, Biles also helped the U.S. team win gold in the team final and claimed gold in the women’s gymnastics all-around final.
During the vault final, Biles earned a score of 15.3, surpassing Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade who took silver with 14.966 points. Andrade, who also won silver in the all-around, competed closely with Biles for the top position.
Biles’ teammate Jade Carey secured the bronze in the vault final with a score of 14.466.
It’s worth noting that Biles had previously won the gold medal in vault at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
