Former President Donald Trump has agreed to a Fox News offer to debate Vice President Kamala Harris on Sept. 4.
A debate was initially scheduled for Sept. 10 on ABC News when President Joe Biden was still in the race, but Trump expressed reluctance about participating in that debate with Harris, despite her willingness.
“I have agreed with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th. The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated as Biden will no longer be participating, and I am in legal proceedings against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, creating a conflict of interest,” Trump said on Truth Social.
“The Fox News Debate will take place in Pennsylvania, at a location to be announced. The moderators will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the rules will be similar to my debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been mistreated by his party — BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!” he continued.
There has been no response yet from Harris regarding whether she will agree to the debate. She had previously committed to a Sept. 10 ABC debate with Trump.
The Democratic party announced on Friday that Harris had secured enough delegate votes to become the official Democratic nominee for president when voting concludes on Monday.
