BILLINGS — If you have old toys collecting dust in your house, The Toy Scout company visiting Billings this weekend wants to buy them.
The Toy Scout, owned by expert Joel Magee, was at Hilton Garden Inn hoping to pay cash for people’s old collections. They specialize in purchasing vintage toys and collectibles from the 1980s and older, including sought-after items like Hot Wheels, Barbie, and GI Joe, especially those in the original unopened packaging in an unaltered state.
Jeff Schriefer, the Toy Scout’s Roadshow Manager, has been collecting toys for many years as a way to reconnect with his past, influenced by his father who was a collector. The items purchased by Schriefer and his team are then sent back to their building in Sioux City, Iowa, and sold to other collectors worldwide.
For those in Billings, Schriefer encourages them to bring any old toys, comic books, coins, or advertising they may have to see if they could be worth more than they think. The Toy Scout will be at the Hilton Garden Inn on Saturday from 9 a.m to 3 p.m., with free entrance. Click here for more information about the Toy Scout.
