SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — North Boulder Little League of Colorado scored six runs in the top of the first inning and cruised to a 18-7 victory over Boulder-Arrowhead on Sunday in the second round of the 11-12 majors baseball Mountain regional here.
Boulder-Arrowhead of Billings — which opened tourney play with a 7-1 victory over Paseo Verde Little League of Henderson, Nevada, on Saturday — fell to 1-1 in the tourney. B-A falls into loser-out play and will next meet the winner of Monday’s Nevada and Wyoming contest on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Mountain time in loser-out play.

On Sunday, North Boulder amassed 17 hits, compared to six for B-A, in the five-inning game.
North Boulder scored six in the first and B-A came back for a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. The winners then tacked on three more runs in the top of the second, but the Montana state champions responded with five runs of their own to trail 9-7 after two complete innings. After a scoreless third, North Boulder scored five runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to end the game.
Both teams committed two errors.
Jaycob Kilwien and Logan Brocklebank both batted 2 for 2 with a run for B-A. Jackson Nyberg was 1 for 2 with a run and two RBIs for B-A. Brocklebank hit a double for the Billings team. Dane Larsen scored a run and drove in a run for B-A.
