COMPTON, Calif. Putting defendants on the stand is a rare and risky move for defense lawyers. The charges against Trone include murder and second-degree robbery. Prosecutors say his son, who has not been tried, entered Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles and killed the Philadelphia hip-hop star.

Worldwide, “Deadpool & Wolverine” has quickly amassed $824.1 million in ticket sales. The weekend’s primary challengers both struggled. M. Night Shyamalan’s latest thriller, “Trap,” managed $15.6 million. The live-action “Harold and the Purple Crayon” debuted with $6 million.
