Former Gov. Marc Racicot and Montana Constitutional Convention delegate Mae Nan Ellingson, in partnership with the League of Women Voters Montana, will be hosting a town hall event on Wednesday, “Preserving our Democracy: Action Items for Every Montana Citizen.”
The free event will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Avila/Desmet room at Carroll College, 1601 N. Benton Ave. The conversation will be moderated by Jacob Linfesty, president and co-founder of the Montana Transparency Project.
The participants will discuss how Montanans can engage in purposeful action to ensure their voices are heard this election season.
Included in the discussion will be community-level opportunities for civic participation, nonpartisan work happening across Montana to improve our democratic system, and federal legislation as the remedy for challenges facing our democratic institutions today – including the Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
