BILLINGS — Severe storms tore through the area late Tuesday afternoon, bringing damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain. Be cautious of downed trees, tree limbs, and debris on the roads during your Wednesday morning commute. Please show gratitude to emergency workers who are working hard to clean up the aftermath.
Here are a few reports:
-Billings airport recorded a gust of 76 mph
-The strongest gust from the storms was 78 mph in Corinth, MT
-Lockwood and Absarokee experienced quarter-size hail
-multiple reports of pea to dime-size hail
A double dose of cooler air is on its way, bringing daytime temperatures below average until early next week. Expect highs in the 60s and 70s through Friday, with a warming trend towards the 70s and 80s over the weekend.
We can anticipate an active weather pattern over the weekend, with daily showers and thunderstorms possible.
Long-range forecasts suggest that next week will see a return to warmer-than-average temperatures while also being wetter-than-average.
