BILLINGS — The mild temperatures in Montana and Wyoming over the last few days have been quite pleasant, thanks to a small ridge of high pressure. Currently, we have some moisture moving into our region, leading to a few showers and thunderstorms from this evening through early Saturday morning, although rainfall amounts will be minimal.
A stronger disturbance will move over our area on Saturday, bringing another round of rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Not everyone will experience this active weather, with most of it expected to be south of Billings. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also likely on Sunday.
Throughout the upcoming week, the northern Rockies will be positioned between a trough of low pressure along the West Coast and a ridge of high pressure over the Great Plains, resulting in a southwest flow that will bring almost daily chances of showers and thunderstorms. However, similar to previous events, not everyone will see precipitation, and most of it will be on the lighter side.
