Authorities in Brazil completed the recovery of the bodies of the 62 individuals who lost their lives in a tragic plane crash. As investigations begin to examine the black boxes of the aircraft, the cause of the disaster is being determined.
Footage showed the ATR 72-500 plane in a terrifying spiral before crashing into a residential area in Vinhedo, located approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Sao Paulo.
The plane, belonging to airline Voepass, crashed in a near-vertical position, causing a significant impact and resulting in an explosion. The crash site was severely devastated, leaving 62 casualties, including 34 males and 28 females. The bodies have been taken to Sao Paulo for identification.
Experts have retrieved the black boxes containing crucial flight data, and investigations are underway to uncover the reasons behind the tragic incident.
A preliminary report is expected to be published within 30 days, shedding light on the events leading to the crash.
The community mourned the loss of the victims, with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva declaring three days of national mourning in honor of the lives lost.
Despite the destruction caused by the crash, no casualties were reported on the ground. Authorities are currently working to provide support and assistance to the affected families.
