On Saturday, Uvalde city officials released a large amount of documents and recordings, including a frantic 911 call from the uncle of the Robb Elementary School gunman who tragically killed 19 students and two teachers.
This collection of material, which includes text messages, emails, bodycam and dashcam videos, was made public following a lawsuit filed by Scripps News and various news organizations.
On the day of the mass shooting, May 24, 2022, a man identified as Armando Ramos, the gunman’s uncle, called 911 in a worried and anxious state. He pleaded to speak to his nephew, offering to assist the police in persuading his nephew to surrender.
Ramos mentioned that his nephew had been with him the night before the shooting and was upset with his grandmother. The call was made after the authorities had already confronted and apprehended the gunman, as per detailed information provided.
The shooter had injured his grandmother before heading to the school, as revealed by the released data. A neighbor confirmed seeing the grandmother covered in blood on the day of the tragic incident.
