Buffalo Bills wide receiver Chase Claypool has been placed on injured reserve due to a lingering toe injury, with his last practice being on July 28. The 26-year-old Claypool was seeking a fresh start with the Bills after previously playing for three different cities in his first four NFL seasons. He signed a one-year, $1.1 million deal with the Bills in May. Claypool was drafted by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and had impressive stats in his first two seasons. However, he was traded to the Chicago Bears in November 2022 and then to the Miami Dolphins in October 2023. Despite the recent trades and injuries, the Bills’ head coach Sean McDermott expressed his desire to have Claypool back on the field, stating, “It’s just hard to evaluate when the players aren’t out there, whether it’s Chase or anybody.” Claypool has a career total of 175 receptions, 2,261 yards, and 13 touchdowns in 58 games. –Field Level Media
