The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards have been rescheduled due to the upcoming U.S. presidential debate.
The VMAs will now be broadcast live on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. Eastern from the UBS Arena on New York’s Long Island, a day later than originally planned.
Last week, ABC News confirmed that Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will participate in a debate on Sept. 10, the original date of the 2024 VMAs.
MTV announced the 2024 nominees on Aug. 6. Taylor Swift leads with 10 nominations, including eight for her “Fortnight” music video and nods in the artist of the year and best pop categories. Post Malone, her collaborator on “Fortnight,” follows with eight nominations and a ninth for his country hit “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen.
