In a shift from its traditional television format, the Democratic National Party is aiming to connect with a new audience at its upcoming convention.
For the first time, the party will offer vertical streams on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, in addition to being available on Twitch, a popular video game livestreaming service.
A source familiar with the planning shared with Scripps News that over 200 content creators will be in attendance.

“With more and more Americans seeking news through new channels, Democrats are ready to engage with them and share our vision for a better future with households nationwide,” said Democratic National Convention Committee Executive Director Alex Hornbrook.
The Democratic National Convention in Chicago will take place over four days from Aug. 19 to Aug. 22.
Although Vice President Kamala Harris earned the nomination through a virtual roll call, she will officially accept the nomination on the final day of the convention.
