MONTANA – New information released in a statewide poll is showing that former president and Republican candidate Donald Trump is leading current Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee for U.S. President Kamala Harris among Montana voters.
According to the poll of 538 registered voters, Trump received 51.7% of the vote while Harris garnered 37.8%.
Not listed is independent Robert Kennedy, who has 5.6 percent support.
The support for Trump in this poll is just about 5 points less than what he received in the 2020 election, where he received 56.9 percent of the vote.
The poll also measured favorability ratings. Trump had a favorable rating of 53.2%, while Harris had 45.7%.
For the vice-presidential race, J.D. Vance had a favorable rating of 48.7%, ahead of Tim Walz who had 35.1%.
When asked about the overall direction of the country, 64.2% of respondents believe it is heading in the wrong direction, while 26.8% think it is on the right track.
