Authorities have made at least one arrest in Southern California in connection with the accidental overdose death of actor Matthew Perry.
NBC News initially reported the arrest, citing unnamed law enforcement sources. TMZ also disclosed that a doctor and multiple individuals identified as drug dealers were apprehended on Thursday.
Authorities are scheduled to hold a press conference on Thursday to reveal more details about the case, as mentioned by The Associated Press.
Perry, known for his role in the NBC sitcom “Friends” and other TV shows and movies, was discovered deceased last October in a hot tub at his residence in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles. He was 54 years old.
Reports indicated that Perry had overdosed on ketamine, an anesthetic drug with psychedelic properties.
Los Angeles police had previously stated in May that they were investigating the source of the drugs procured by Perry.
